What we did
  • Creative strategy
  • Live action
  • 3D animation
When Striking Distance Studios was preparing for the launch of their highly anticipated sci-fi survival horror video game, The Callisto Protocol, they called on DK. We created a creative campaign strategy, trailer, and OOH activation that would unveil the narratively-rich game to fans ahead of launch.

The campaign centers around Jacob, brought to life by Josh Duhamel, the character through which players explore the game.

Rise, Dead Man

Combining live-action and VFX, we created a trailer for broadcast and digital, in collaboration with Prettybird director Vellas and Rodeo FX. 'Rise, Dead Man' pays homage to some of the classic sci-fi and horror films that inspired the visceral experience of the game. The trailer premiered during the Cowboys vs Giants NFL Thanksgiving game, reaching tens of millions of viewers.

We struck a balance between the practical and virtual, merging ‘real’ locations with the sci-fi grit of Black Iron Prison and the horrifying creatures of Callisto.

Fear takes no prisoners

Alongside the live-action trailer, DK developed the branding strategy, narrative, and brand bible, and oversaw creative direction of the social media campaign. We defined precise language to capture the story world of the product in the lead up to launch.

Times Square & Piccadilly Circus take over

A 3D out-of-home activation extended the campaign story to New York and London. Over the course of a few weeks, in the lead up to the December 2022 launch, cinematic content took over massive screens in these two iconic locations, teasing the public with 3D illusions that pulled them straight into the horrors of the game.
